Transportation

New Hampshire is the gateway to northern New England. Situated less than an hour's drive from the region's most popular ski areas, scenic seacoast, lakefront beaches and even the excitement of metropolitan Boston, travel throughout and between states is convenient and efficient.

Manchester Airport is conveniently located just minutes from Interstates 93 & 293, and New Hampshire's major Routes 3 & 101. It provides an easily accessible departure point for business and vacation travelers. The modern facility with its new $60 million terminal building, which opened in 1994, offers air travelers conveniently scheduled jet and regional services to major US cities with connections worldwide.

Besides Manchester's airport facility, there are 79 registered landing areas, including 14 municipal airports owned by various towns and cities throughout the state. Of these, three others besides Manchester offer regular commercial commuter services: Keene and Lebanon in the western part of the state and the Business Express/Delta Connection maintenance facility as Pease International Tradeport on the seacoast.

Boston's Logan International Airport is approximately and hour's drive from most points in southern New Hampshire. Shuttle and limo services are readily available for passengers wishing to leave their cars at home.

At present there are no commuter rail lines connecting New Hampshire's major population centers with metropolitan Boston, but plans are on the drawing board to extend commuter service from Lowell, Massachusetts up into Nashua and points North.
